Stephanie Sandberg, Ph.D.

This play, set in contemporary America, explores the story of a trafficked woman, escaped from Serbia during the war.  She has changed herself from victim into performance artist, and defends the scandalous nature of her art, which is considered pornographic by some.  Her story interweaves with a feminist researcher who is studying third-wave feminism and the University.  The text is beautiful, the story provocative.  This was a world premiere at Actors' Theatre Grand Rapids in 2012.
